My father grew up in Fresno and his sister, along with 2 of her 3 sons, and their children still reside there. We haven't seen each other in a decade, so the reunion was long over due.
Hector was able to get off of work early and things fell perfectly into place for us to make the drive on Friday afternoon, putting us in Fresno, just in time for Kearsyn and Korbyn's (my cousin's kids) birthday party at Pump It Up. Due to L.A. traffic, it took us over 5 hours to get there, but the kids were so excited to see that our destination included bouncy castles, balloons and cupcakes!
On Saturday we all got together for a picnic lunch at the park and the kids (and adults) had a blast. It was so great to spend time with my cousins and to watch our children play together. "Uncle Brandon" taught Alexander to hit a baseball, and Lilly got to be his ball girl. Alexander rode around on razor scooters with the Hayden and Gavyn, and Lilly fit right in with the girls.
As a bonus, my Aunty Linda's house is set up perfectly for all of the kids. Weeks later, Alexander is still saying, "Go Linda's house another day." We can't wait to visit again soon (hopefully in July) and look forward to watching the kids all grow up together.
